Barbeque for Breast Cancer
October 2008, the Iota Omega chapter held their first annual Barbeque for Breast Cancer. There was a Yoplait Yogurt pie eating contest and the winner took home an Autographed Santana Moss Redskins jersey. Thanks to over 50 sponsors, along with the help of parents, and the community, we were able to raise over $2,000 for the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation!
NFL Think Pink Day
Many of our Zeta's attended the October 12 Redskins/Rams football game where they passed out thousands of Think Pink ribbons and shower cards to raise breast cancer awareness. Thanks to our partnership with the NFL, this game was one of the many games dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The coaches and players were all sporting pink ribbons, along with the thousands of fans that attended the game. Not only were the Zeta's passing out ribbons, but cheerleaders and fans were doing so as well.
Race for the Cure
This year, over 50 Zeta's volunteered and participated in the annual Komen Maryland Race for the Cure, hosted by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We had the honor of providing support for the thousands of survivors and their families. |
